ONDA drip edge profile

The ONDA model is designed for balconies and terraces with curved, rounded or irregular sections. It can be bent manually and does not have a predefined bending radius.

β€’ Curved or irregular sections β†’ ONDA profile
β€’ Straight sections β†’ NOR profile
β€’ Balconies with both straight and curved sections β†’ NOR and ONDA combined

NOR and ONDA have the same section and are complementary, allowing aesthetic continuity to be maintained along the entire perimeter. The upper space of the profile is 12.5 mm, so the overall thickness of the tile and adhesive must be checked.

Frequently bought together

We recommend using approximately one connector every two profiles. During installation, leave a gap of about 5–10 mm between two bars; this will be covered by the connector.

The ONDA model does not have dedicated corner pieces, as it is mainly used for curved and irregular geometries. For connections with straight sections, it can be combined with the NOR drip edge profile.

Frequently asked questions

What recommendations should be followed when installing balcony drip edge profiles?
Here are the suggested steps for installing drip edge profiles for balconies and terraces:

Waterproofing: Start by applying a waterproofing layer, which may be a liquid membrane or a sheet membrane, directly onto the screed.

Bonding the profile: Position the profile using a tile adhesive, making sure to leave a space of about 1 cm between the profile and the edge of the screed.

Sealing the cuts: To help reduce the risk of water infiltration under the profile, seal the cut area with waterproofing tape.

Bonding the tiles:
For MINUTA profiles, keep a grout joint between the edge of the profile and the first row of tiles, then close the joint with an elastic sealant.

For MINUTA profiles, make sure to leave the necessary space for the drainage holes, then grout with a permeable sealant.

When connecting corners or joining bars, it is important to leave a space of about 2 cm between the parts to allow for aluminium expansion. The cover joint helps hide and protect this space.
Is it necessary to install the joint together with the perimeter profiles for terraces, or can I add it later?
When installing perimeter profiles for terraces, it is important to include the linear joint elements and the connection pieces for external corners as part of the installation process. These components should be integrated from the profile laying stage for MINUTA profiles.
Are painted aluminium drip edge profiles suitable for outdoor use?
Drip edge profiles serve an essential function as perimeter edges for terraces. As they are not exposed to mechanical stress such as foot traffic, aluminium is suitable for outdoor use. This material has also been selected to allow epoxy powder coating, which offers excellent resistance to UV rays, mould and is easy to keep clean.
