Frequently asked questions
What recommendations should be followed when installing balcony drip edge profiles?
Waterproofing: Start by applying a waterproofing layer, which may be a liquid membrane or a sheet membrane, directly onto the screed.
Bonding the profile: Position the profile using a tile adhesive, making sure to leave a space of about 1 cm between the profile and the edge of the screed.
Sealing the cuts: To help reduce the risk of water infiltration under the profile, seal the cut area with waterproofing tape.
Bonding the tiles:
For MINUTA profiles, keep a grout joint between the edge of the profile and the first row of tiles, then close the joint with an elastic sealant.
For MINUTA profiles, make sure to leave the necessary space for the drainage holes, then grout with a permeable sealant.
When connecting corners or joining bars, it is important to leave a space of about 2 cm between the parts to allow for aluminium expansion. The cover joint helps hide and protect this space.
