When to choose SLIM

The SLIM model is suitable for those looking for a drip edge profile with a thin section and an essential look, without compromising the protection of balcony and terrace edges.

β€’ Thin and discreet design β†’ SLIM profile
β€’ Tile up to approximately 10 mm β†’ generally compatible
β€’ Tile 12 mm β†’ check the overall thickness with the adhesive

The upper space of the profile measures 12.4 mm. Before purchasing, it is therefore necessary to consider the overall thickness of the tile, the adhesive and any waterproofing layers. The internal section is designed to channel water and limit build-up and stagnation.

Frequently bought together

We recommend using approximately one connector every two profiles. The internal and external corners have sides of 16 cm. Between two bars or at corner connections, leave a gap of about 5–10 mm to allow for the natural expansion of the material.

For the satin aluminium finish, pre-assembled corners are not available: the corner must be made by cutting the profiles at 45Β° and joining the ends with a neutral sealant or a silicone compatible with aluminium.

Frequently asked questions

What recommendations should be followed when installing balcony drip edge profiles?
Here are the suggested steps for installing drip edge profiles for balconies and terraces:

Waterproofing: Start by applying a waterproofing layer, which may be a liquid membrane or a sheet membrane, directly onto the screed.

Bonding the profile: Position the profile using a tile adhesive, making sure to leave a space of about 1 cm between the profile and the edge of the screed.

Sealing the cuts: To help reduce the risk of water infiltration under the profile, seal the cut area with waterproofing tape.

Bonding the tiles:
For MINUTA profiles, keep a grout joint between the edge of the profile and the first row of tiles, then close the joint with an elastic sealant.

For MINUTA profiles, make sure to leave the necessary space for the drainage holes, then grout with a permeable sealant.

When connecting corners or joining bars, it is important to leave a space of about 2 cm between the parts to allow for aluminium expansion. The cover joint helps hide and protect this space.
Is it necessary to install the joint together with the perimeter profiles for terraces, or can I add it later?
When installing perimeter profiles for terraces, it is important to include the linear joint elements and the connection pieces for external corners as part of the installation process. These components should be integrated from the profile laying stage for MINUTA profiles.
Are painted aluminium drip edge profiles suitable for outdoor use?
Drip edge profiles serve an essential function as perimeter edges for terraces. As they are not exposed to mechanical stress such as foot traffic, aluminium is suitable for outdoor use. This material has also been selected to allow epoxy powder coating, which offers excellent resistance to UV rays, mould and is easy to keep clean.
